The approach behind the yoga practice

Ananda Yoga in Berlin and online: movement, energy and awareness.

Sheetal’s yoga classes are inspired by Ananda Yoga and the Kriya Yoga tradition. The practice uses gentle postures, breathwork and affirmations to support both physical well-being and inward awareness.

How Ananda Yoga is experienced in class

Postures are practised with attention to the breath and to how the movement feels from within. The aim is not a perfect-looking pose, but a balanced experience of steadiness, energy and ease.

Positive affirmations can accompany postures to focus the mind and deepen awareness. Every element is introduced in accessible language, and alternatives are available where needed.

From physical practice to meditation

The sequence gradually moves from energising and strengthening postures toward seated poses, relaxation and stillness. This progression helps prepare the body and breath for meditation.

Meditation is not treated as a separate add-on. It is the natural inward movement of the awareness cultivated during yoga.

Who can join

The approach is suitable for beginners, people returning to yoga and experienced practitioners who prefer a mindful, non-competitive atmosphere.

You can experience it in the Saturday Berlin-Moabit class, the Monday online class or a personal session with Sheetal.
